HUMAN RESOURCES ANALYST
Salary Range (DOE): $93,503.90 - $113,667.84
BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, perform a broad range of professional human resources duties supporting recruitment, employee benefits, leave administration, workers’ compensation, HRIS data management, and employee relations. Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and supervisors on HR related matters. Maintain accurate employee records and support HR programs and initiatives.
This position sits in a correctional facility and requires a stringent personal background investigation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the HR Manager the HR Analyst will:
Coordinate full cycle recruitment activities for Corrections Officers and other positions, including job postings, applicant screening, testing, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
Facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation; ensure completion of required documentation and timely benefit enrollment.
Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations; assist employees with benefit questions and issue resolution.
Coordinate and track employee leave programs (FMLA, military leave, leave without pay, etc.) in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and labor agreements.
Support workers’ compensation processes, including claim reporting, tracking, communication with State Labor & Industries, and coordination of return-to-work or light duty assignments.
Maintain and update employee data in HRIS/payroll systems, ensuring accuracy of records related to hires, compensation, benefits, and performance.
Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with legal and organizational requirements; ensure confidentiality and data integrity.
Respond to employee and applicant inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, recruitment processes, and employment information.
Support risk management and safety programs by tracking claims, maintaining documentation, and assisting with program administration.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as internal HR policies and procedures.
Assist with HR projects such as salary surveys, audits, reporting, and process improvements.
Generate and maintain reports related to HR metrics and activities.
Utilize HR systems and standard office software to support HR functions.
Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance; may work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
Provide guidance and support to HR staff or cross-functional teams.
Coordinate HR projects and program initiatives.
Analyze HR data and trends to support decision-making and process improvements.
Perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF
General human resources principles and practices
Recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
Employee benefits and leave administration
Basic employment laws and regulations
HRIS systems and data management
Recordkeeping and confidentiality standards
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
TylerMUNIS or similar HRIS system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, and
Two (2) years of professional human resources experience or equivalent experience.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR or equivalent certification) is desirable.
Working knowledge of employment law is preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to obtain ACCESS certification. Position requires a comprehensive background investigation, polygraph, medical exam (including drug screening), and credit check.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office environment within a correctional facility.
